Title: The Case of the Dubious Bridegroom
Author: Erle Stanley Garnder
Cover artist: photo cover
Yours for: $6
Best things about this cover:
- "My name is Gloria. I live in this book. Now get the @#$# off my doorstep, you mug!"
- "Ooh, I hate the word 'dubious.' I'm just gonna step on it ... take that, 'dubious!'"
- The hair, boobs, and attitude say 'gun moll,' but the belt says 'World Welterweight Champion!"
- Erle Stanley Gardner has the signature of a megalomaniacal mental patient.
Best things about this back cover:
- Next time I punch someone in the face, I am going to proclaim loudly, "You, sir, have received the mitten. Good day!"

"Rex," Hackley said, "stay there. These people are leaving."
The dog, now much more obedient and less hostile, promptly settled down on his haunches, and looked to Hackley for instructions.

Is that really a photo cover? It looks drawn from here.
Also, amazing that on page 123 there is a reference to a Rex. The coincidences!
"Cover photograph by Silver Studios" (red letters, back cover)
Good call, Rex. In that case, perhaps they took a photograph of a blow up doll.
On further inspection (10 seconds this time as opposed to 5 last time), it may just be the pixelation of the picture that gives it that fake look. I don't know.
The only problem with being punched in the face by a stranger, apparently, is when your business gets a new client afterwards. Otherwise, everything's cool.
Cover blurb logic at its finest.
Is she navigating the same window which is giving Drunky McJaundice so many problems in Stars in My Crown?
