Title: Appointment with Death
Author: Agatha Christie
Cover artist: Gerald Gregg
Estimated value: $15-25
Best things about this cover:
- "Where have you been? You're late. We had an appointment. [Sigh]. I guess we can get coffee and wait for the next tour to start, but … I really wish you'd called." #PassiveAggressiveDeath
- Killer Gerald Gregg cover. KILLER.
- "AN Hercule Poirot Mystery"—I like that the cover knows the "H" is silent.
Best things about this back cover:
- O, man, jackpot. First off, MAPBACK!
- Second off, check out the 1946 map! Predates existence of Israel by a scant two years.
- Third, check out the insert map from "Star Wars." You can see a Jawa camp and everything.

"None of the servants seemed to be about, but I found some soda water and drank it."
You'll thrill to the tale of the intrepid rich guy who risked all to survive in … A House Without Servants.

I love those mapbacks every time, but this one is fabulous. :)
I think this is my favorite PS cover of all time. That is one badass grim reaper, and it's no surpise that the abstract Mediterranian town he's just leaving seems so... lifeless. It's like a de Chirico painting, except better.
Also, MAP!! I love 'em too.
Amazing book! The cover is pure gold and the mapbacks are my favorite.
Obviously one of the books she wrote after marrying Max Mallowan and going on some of his digs. Poirot always feels out of place in those. He's just too fussy to be tramping around in the desert.
Also, she really should have saved this title for a story set in Samarra.
Hi Rex! Like others, I found this wonderful site through your crossword site.
Since things are slow at work, the last two months I have gone through your entire collection.... I don't know whether to feel proud, or ashamed!
Anyway, if I have any covers that you might not have, is there a way to email or upload?
