Title: Slaughter Street
Author: Louis Falstein
Cover artist: Victor Kalin
YOURS FOR: $12 (SOLD - 4/18/08)
Best things about this cover:
- "... and even her fierce, shameless love would be no shield" - lying in bed naked gets my vote for Least Effective Shield of All Time
- This cover is So good - so many of my favorite cover elements: naked redhead, smoking guy with gun, motel (I imagine), etc.
Best things about this back cover:
Sorry, I stopped reading at "bowels"

Bowels stopped me too.
So glad to see you back, I've missed you!
Fab.
He knows what he needs. A gun... and a high colonic.
Looking closely at the cover it appears that the sheet painted above her arms and hands was a later add. The color is different. I am going to guess that there was too much boobage showing on her right side for 1959 and the sheet was raised there and also across her index fingers (to make it balance out).
I'm sure that the editor told the artist (or a flunky brought in to dab on some grey paint): "No one will ever notice." Ahhh, but with the internet and computer enlargements, they will
